In Search of the
Hidden Wonders of Nature

Step off the beaten path and connect to your inner trailblazer in this cross-country journey to some of the most beautiful but little-known landscapes of North America. From the wilds of Alaska and the lush coastline of Oregon, to the ancient canyons of the Southwest and the rolling hills of the Appalachian Trail, Into America’s Wild is a non-stop ride via kayak, train, bike, hot air balloon and more that explores the transformational allure of wild places and the human connection we all share with the natural world.

In the wildest places, we can still find that connection we all need.

– John Herrington, pioneering Native American astronaut

Meet the Trailblazers

What is it about untamed places that fires our curiosity, cleanses our spirits, sparks new ideas and so often brings us together? The trailblazers who guide Into America’s Wild share a passion for connecting people with experiences in the wild. Meet pioneering Native American astronaut, John Herrington. Alaskan bush pilot and youth advocate Ariel Tweto. And record-breaking, long-distance hiker Jennifer Pharr Davis.

For Educators

Films for exhibition in IMAX and giant screen theaters are designed to educate and enlighten as much as they are to entertain. Take your students on a field trip to see Into America’s Wild and inspire them with a renewed appreciation for nature and time spent in the wild, even if it’s in their own backyard. The film is aligned with Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) for grades K through 12. Book your field trip today by contacting your local IMAX or giant-screen theater for information about special group programs. An Educator Activity Guide will be available soon.
